Hello. My name is Drew Clyde and I’m the pastor here at HEADWAY.
My wife Dawn and I met at James Madison University down in Harrisonburg, VA and have been married for 15 years. We have 5 children: 3 daughters (Maddie-13, Ryan-10, Devon-8) and 2 sons (Roba-6, Sean-5). I grew up and have spent most of my life in Fairfax and Loudoun County, Virginia. We love and feel called to this community. I’m a huge Nats and Skins fan and only pay attention to the Caps and Wizards when they’re good (which seems like “never” for the Wizards). I like sports talk radio, the smell of new tennis balls, and frosted mini-wheats.
Before starting HEADWAY, I served two separate times at Church of the Redeemer in Gaithersburg, MD as the Youth and Young Adults Pastor right out of college and then more recently as the Pastor of Outreach and Small Groups. The seven years in between I spent with Prison Fellowship serving the children of prisoners as the Director of Angel Tree Mentoring, and then as the Director of the Next Generation Initiative leading a national effort to engage 15 – 35 year olds in remembering those in prison.
We are so excited to start and be a part of this community of people that are seeking to know and follow Jesus. This is something that we’ve felt God leading us to do for quite a while and we are trusting and depending on Him completely to work in us and through our lives as we move forward together following Jesus and getting to know him more. We look forward to meeting you and following Jesus alongside of you.
Feel free to contact us at info@makeheadway.org, we’d love to hear from you.
Peace to you,
Drew
